A small clifftop park on the Miraflores Malecón, Parque del Amor is built around El Beso, a four-metre bronze statue of an embracing couple by Peruvian sculptor Víctor Delfín — installed in 1993 and immediately a Lima landmark. Around it run undulating mosaic walls in the Gaudí manner, inlaid with romantic phrases in Spanish.
The viewpoint behind the statue gives a sweeping look down the coast as far as the Costa Verde beaches. It is a popular spot for proposals (a few each weekend), wedding photos, and Valentine's Day visits. Best at sunset when the orange light catches the mosaic. Open and free 24 hours.
