The hilly northern neighbourhood of Bandung, where the old Dutch villas are best preserved. Jalan Ir. H. Juanda (known as Jalan Dago) runs north through increasingly leafy surroundings toward the city's edge, lined with cafes, art spaces, and independent shops. The Dago Pakar forest at the top is a popular weekend escape for city residents — you can walk to the Curug Dago waterfall through secondary forest. The ITB campus, designed partly by Henri Maclaine Pont and considered a masterpiece of tropical architecture, is nearby.
