The Tomb of Shah Ali Akbar stands in the Suraj Miani neighbourhood, about four kilometres north-west of the old city. It is the resting place of a fifteenth-century saint who was a descendant of Bahauddin Zakariya, and is one of the finer "secondary" tombs in a city famous for them. The mausoleum is a small octagonal brick building with a single dome, its façade covered in panels of blue and white tile in the standard Multani manner.
The tomb is much less visited than the great shrines on the fort mound, and consequently feels closer to the way they must have felt before mass pilgrimage. A worthwhile detour for anyone interested in Multani religious architecture.
