Adam Mickiewicz Museum

The Adam Mickiewicz Museum is a small historic house museum in Beyoglu dedicated to the great Polish Romantic poet. Mickiewicz lived here in 1855 while in Istanbul, and died in the city later that year.

It is a specialist stop, but a worthwhile one if you are interested in Istanbul's long history as a place of exile, diplomacy, and political plotting. The museum adds a Polish thread to a neighbourhood better known for Ottoman, Greek, Armenian, and European layers.
