Oratorio del Rosario di San Domenico

Behind the church of San Domenico, in the slope down towards Vucciria market, the Oratorio del Rosario is a third great Serpotta interior — a vault of allegorical women, putti, and pyramidal compositions of cherubs in plaster relief. Anthony van Dyck's Madonna del Rosario, painted in 1628, hangs at the altar — one of his few surviving works in Sicily, executed during his short stay in Palermo during the plague of that year.

The neighbouring Pantheon of San Domenico — the church itself — is the burial place of many of Sicily's 19th and 20th-century notables. Combined ticket with the other Serpotta oratories.
