The Franciscan Church on Piața Muzeului is one of the oldest in Cluj — a 15th-century Gothic structure converted to baroque in the 18th century when the Franciscan friars moved in. The narrow Gothic windows still survive in the apse, and the tower retains its medieval form.
The interior is decorated with baroque altars and frescoes. The church is generally open in the afternoon; the entrance opens directly onto the square. The attached monastery, no longer in use, forms part of the square's western edge.
