Plaza de la Liberación is one of the open civic spaces around Guadalajara's cathedral and government buildings. Its fountains, broad paving, and large Miguel Hidalgo sculpture give the historic centre room to breathe, and it is a useful pause between the cathedral, Teatro Degollado, and the Palacio de Gobierno.
The square is best enjoyed as part of a central walk rather than as a destination by itself. Street life, political gatherings, and families passing through make it feel connected to the city rather than preserved behind glass.
