Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden is one of Miami's great green places: 83 acres of palms, cycads, flowering trees, vines, tropical fruit, and rare plants from warm climates around the world. It functions as both a public garden and a conservation centre, with research collections, outdoor art, and one of the richest tropical plant displays in the United States.
Come for a slow half-day rather than a quick lap. The rainforest, palm collections, and seasonal festivals, especially the mango and chocolate events, make it feel more like a living museum than a city park.
