Copp's Hill Burying Ground

Copp's Hill Burying Ground is Boston's second cemetery, founded in 1659 on a rise above the North End. More than 1,200 marked graves remain, including members of the Mather family and other early Bostonians.

During the Revolutionary War, British troops used some patriot headstones for target practice, and visitors can still spot musket marks in the stone. Combine it with Old North Church and the Paul Revere House for a compact walk through the North End's colonial history.
