First Baptist Church

First Baptist Church is a Back Bay church with roots in a congregation founded in 1665. The current building opened in 1872 and was designed by H. H. Richardson, the architect behind nearby Trinity Church.

It is not Boston's headline church, but its Richardsonian design and long Baptist history make it a worthwhile architectural side stop while walking around Copley Square and Newbury Street.
