Jamaica Pond is the largest body of fresh water in Boston and one of the gentler stops in the Emerald Necklace park system. A path loops around the shore, making it an easy place for a walk, a run, or a quiet hour away from the denser parts of the city.
The pond is most rewarding when paired with Jamaica Plain or nearby green spaces rather than treated as a standalone landmark. Go for the light on the water, the trees, and the feeling of space.
