Franklin Park

Franklin Park is the largest and wildest piece of Frederick Law Olmsted's Emerald Necklace. Its 485 acres mix woodland paths, old stone bridges, meadows, and remnants of earlier park structures, including the Long Crouch Woods area where Boston's first zoo once stood.

The park works best as a long walk rather than a quick photo stop. The zoo and golf course are separate draws, but the rural paths and scattered historic remains are the reason to explore the park itself.
