Lago Sul

Wealthy lakeside district with the embassies and the best restaurants

Lago Sul wraps the south shore of Lake Paranoá: low-rise mansions on tree-shaded plots, the Embassy district, the Palácio da Alvorada, and the most expensive houses in Brasília. The original plan reserved this zone exclusively for single-family villas (Asa Sul and Asa Norte had collective apartment blocks), and the difference is immediate — bigger gardens, longer driveways, lower density.

For visitors, the main attractions are the embassies (some open for events) and the Pontão do Lago Sul restaurant strip on the lakeshore. It is also where the Dom Bosco Sanctuary sits.
