TV Digital Tower

Niemeyer-designed television tower with glass observation decks north of central Brasilia

The TV Digital Tower is one of Oscar Niemeyer's last works in Brasilia, a 180-metre landmark set well north of the monumental core. Its concrete shaft and metal antenna are not as graceful as his best civic buildings, but the tower is worth the trip for the wide views across the Federal District.

Two glass observatories sit partway up the structure, and the lower levels sometimes host exhibitions. Go in clear weather; haze can make the long ride out feel less rewarding.
