A modest white concrete pyramid near the TV Tower, with a 16-metre projection dome inside. Opened in 1974 and refurbished in 2007 with a digital projection system, it shows astronomy programmes in Portuguese with English captions on weekends. The building was designed by Sérgio Bernardes in consultation with Niemeyer.
Free, but sessions are limited — check the schedule online and arrive early on weekend afternoons.
