Mariposa Forest

Small wild park with maned wolves in the south of the city

The Parque Ecológico Bosque dos Constituintes (informally "Mariposa", after a stream that flows through it) is a small protected pocket of Cerrado in the south of the Pilot Plan with a population of maned wolves (lobo-guará), Brazil's largest canine. Several of the resident wolves are habituated to people and can occasionally be seen near the trail heads in the early evening.

A boardwalk runs through gallery forest along a small creek. Quiet, lightly visited, and pleasantly cool. Free; open daylight hours.
