Hang gliding off Pedra Bonita is one of the most thrilling things you can do in Rio. You launch from a ramp at 520 metres above sea level in the Tijuca Forest and soar over the city, landing on the beach at Sao Conrado about 15-20 minutes later. No experience is needed -- you fly tandem with a licensed pilot who handles everything while you take in the view. Several operators offer flights; expect to pay around R$300-400 including photos and video.
