Leblon continues where Ipanema ends -- the two beaches are separated only by a canal. Leblon is quieter and more residential, favoured by families with young children (the baixo baby area near Posto 11 is a gathering point for parents). The neighbourhood behind the beach is one of Rio's most upscale, with excellent restaurants and bars along Rua Dias Ferreira.
