Madhabkunda Waterfall

Madhabkunda lies about 75 km southeast of Sylhet in Moulvibazar district, set in a small ecological park with a marked path leading to a viewing area at the base of the falls. The pool below is shallow and unsafe for swimming, but the spray is cool and the rock walls amplify the sound.

The drive from Sylhet takes a couple of hours and passes through some of the prettiest tea country. The site is busy on weekends with day-trippers from Sylhet and Moulvibazar; weekday visits are far more peaceful. A small entrance fee.

A story
Madhabkunda drops about 200 feet down a sheer rock face in the Patharia Hills, and it is the highest waterfall in Bangladesh — a tall, narrow ribbon of water that swells into a roar after the monsoon and shrinks to a delicate thread in the dry months.
