Purandar Fort

Purandar Fort is a 13th-century hill fort south of Pune, set high above the surrounding countryside. It is closely tied to Maratha and Mughal history, especially the siege that led Shivaji Maharaj to sign the Treaty of Purandar.

The fort has two main parts: Purandar itself and the neighbouring Vajragad, also known as Rudramal. The climb and winding road lead up to terraces, old residential structures, and the Purandareshwar temple, with wide views from the upper fort.
