Every evening from around 6pm, the streets along Nguyen Hoang and Bach Dang fill with food stalls, lantern sellers, and craft vendors. It is lively and crowded, but that is rather the point — the lanterns reflected on the Thu Bon River are genuinely beautiful. Buy a paper lantern to float on the river, eat a bowl of cao lau from a street cart, and walk slowly. Prices at the market stalls are tourist-level; bargaining is expected. Avoid the obvious tourist traps and you will enjoy it.
