Housed in a traditional merchant house, this small but well-curated museum focuses on the ceramics that passed through Hoi An's port between the 9th and 18th centuries — Chinese porcelain, Japanese stoneware, and locally made pieces traded across maritime Asia. Many items were recovered from shipwrecks in Vietnamese waters. The building itself is worth seeing: an authentic wooden merchant house with an open courtyard and two storeys of carved timber. One of the better-focused museums in the Old Town.
