Turin's central park runs for a kilometre and a half along the right bank of the Po, full of joggers, students, families with strollers, and benches under enormous plane trees. Two royal sights anchor it: the Castello del Valentino, the Savoys' riverside residence with a sloping French-style roof, and the Borgo Medievale.
The park is also where Turin sits on a warm evening. Bars and cafes line the embankment near the Murazzi, where the city's nightlife has clustered since the 1990s. Hire a bike from one of the ToBike stations and ride the riverside cycle path all the way south to the river's exit from the city.
