This walking tour begins at Piazza Castello and follows Via Po toward the river, passing under the severe arcades where the king once walked on his way to the Po. Along the way you pass the historic Caffe Florio, the Church of San Francesco da Paola, and the Galleria dell'Accademia Albertina before reaching Piazza Carlo Emanuele II, better known as Piazza Carlina, once the site of a Napoleonic guillotine.
The route continues through Piazza Maria Teresa and into the Vanchiglia district, where you can spot Antonelli's extraordinary "Fetta di Polenta" building, just five metres wide at the front and seventy centimetres at the back. The walk culminates at the Mole Antonelliana, Turin's iconic landmark and home to the Museo del Cinema, where a glass lift takes you up 167 metres for a breathtaking 360-degree view of the city and the Alps.
