The Latvian National Opera is one of Riga's main cultural landmarks, set in a handsome 19th-century building beside the city canal near the Old Town. It is worth noticing for the architecture even without a ticket, and it is the obvious place in Riga to see opera or ballet.
Its central location makes it easy to combine with the Old Town, the canal parks, and the nearby Latvian National Museum of Art.
