Kremlin Embankment

The Kremlin Embankment (Kremlyovskaya Naberezhnaya) is a wide riverside boardwalk that runs east from below the Kremlin walls along the Kazanka river, opened in 2015. The flat promenade has cafes, fountains, child-friendly play areas, and a separated cycle lane; in winter much of it freezes over and becomes a public ice rink.

The walk gives the best ground-level view of the Kremlin walls — they rise on the cliff to the south — and looks across the river to the Agricultural Palace, the Soviet-era Pyramid, and the football stadium. Best at sunset.
