The Parque Cretácico is the visitor centre and dinosaur park built next to the Cal Orck'o palaeontological wall on the northern edge of Sucre. The centrepiece is a viewing terrace overlooking the wall itself, with informative panels (in Spanish and English) explaining how the wall formed and which species made which tracks. Scattered around the park are 24 life-size fibreglass dinosaur models — sauropods the size of buses, theropods, a smiling triceratops — that delight children.
The on-site museum runs continuous video presentations on the discovery of the tracks and the geology of the area. Guided tours (extra fee) lead small groups down to the foot of the cliff for a much closer look at the prints than the viewing terrace allows. The Dino Bus from the cathedral runs twice daily, includes transport and entry, and saves a taxi ride. Plan two hours minimum, longer if you have kids.
