Chiwan Left Fort

Chiwan Left Fort is the surviving part of a Pearl River defensive position that once guarded the approach to Guangzhou. The fort stood high above the water, with gun positions intended to control ships entering the river.

Only fragments remain, including stone walls, a cannon, and a statue of Lin Zexu. The site is small, but it is one of Shenzhen's clearer links to the Opium War period.
