Dapeng Peninsula National Geopark is one of eastern Shenzhen's better excuses to get out of the dense city. The entrance museum explains the area's rocks, minerals, and fossils, with bilingual panels and a focus on Guangdong geology.
The park itself is the stronger draw. Trails lead into the hills from near the museum, giving Shenzhen visitors a more rugged coastal landscape than the city's central parks and theme sights.
