Shenzhen Safari Park is one of the largest safari-style wildlife parks in China, located in Guangming District in the northern part of Shenzhen. Unlike a conventional zoo, much of the park is designed as a drive-through experience — visitors board safari buses that move through large enclosures where the animals roam relatively freely. Lions, tigers, bears, giraffes, and zebras are among the residents of the drive-through sections.
The walking zones cover giant pandas, smaller primates, reptiles, and bird aviaries. The park also runs daily animal shows — acrobatics with big cats and birds of prey are the most popular. For families, the combination of drive-through safari and live shows makes a full day out.
The park is in a genuinely remote part of Shenzhen and requires a taxi or Didi from the nearest metro station (Guangming New Area station on Line 6 is closest). It's best visited on a weekday; school holiday weekends can be extremely busy.
