Enoshima Shrine is the main shrine complex on Enoshima, reached by climbing through the island's lanes and wooded slopes.
It is best known for its unusual statue of Benzaiten, a Shinto deity rarely shown in this form. The shrine also gives a clear reason to explore the upper part of the island rather than stopping at the waterfront.
