Al Ansab Wetlands is a protected wetland on the inland side of Muscat. Nearly 300 bird species have been recorded here, including resident birds and migrants using the wetlands as a stopover.
Visits are usually made on guided tours, so check current arrangements before going. It is one of the better places around Muscat for birdwatching and a quieter contrast to the city's forts, museums, and seafront sights.
