Riyam Park

Seafront Muscat park below the giant incense-burner monument between Mutrah and Old Muscat.

Riyam Park sits on the coastal road between Mutrah and Old Muscat, just below the huge white incense-burner monument that has become one of the city’s easiest landmarks to spot. The park itself is simple, but its lawns, paths, and sea views make a useful pause on the walk or drive between the corniche and the old walled city.

It is most appealing near sunset, when families come out and the harsh midday light softens on the Gulf of Oman. Do not expect a major sight; come for a short break, the view back toward Mutrah, and the strange pleasure of seeing Muscat’s ceremonial landscape from ground level.
