Namsan Park

Namsan (South Mountain) is a forested hill rising to 262 metres near the centre of Seoul, surrounded by a national park that provides a patch of green accessible from most parts of the city. The Namsan Circular Trail — a flat 7km path around the mountain's base — is used by joggers, dog walkers, and anyone who wants an hour's walk in trees without leaving the city. The upper slopes have several routes to the summit and N Seoul Tower.

The mountain also preserves remnants of the Seoul City Wall, which once enclosed the Joseon-era capital along its crest. Long sections of the reconstructed wall can be walked, with views both into the forested interior of the park and out over the sprawling city. The Namsangol Hanok Village at the base of the mountain recreates a traditional Korean village setting with five restored hanok houses and period furniture.
