Beiqu, the North District, runs between the old city and the elevated motorway. It is where the National Museum of Natural Science sits, surrounded by a green strip of botanical gardens, and where Yizhong Street stretches through the cram-school district.
The neighbourhood is the second-most walkable in the city after the central district, and the most useful single area for visitors short on time — the museum, the botanical garden, Confucius Temple, Baojue Temple, and the start of the Calligraphy Greenway are all within a fifteen-minute walk of each other.
