The Houli Horse Ranch (Houli Mailiao) is a former cavalry training ground from the Japanese colonial period, now a public horse ranch and park on the northern edge of Taichung. Trail rides, pony rides for children, and a small museum on the cavalry history.
The site formed one of three main venues of the 2018-19 Taichung World Flora Exposition; some of the floral installations are still maintained, and the surrounding cycle path along the Houfeng Bikeway is one of the most popular cycling routes in central Taiwan.
