Taichung Literature Museum

The Taichung Literature Museum occupies a cluster of restored Japanese-era police dormitories on Lequn Street, in the centre of the city. The wood-and-tile buildings, set in small gardens, hold permanent exhibitions on the major Taichung-born writers and rotating exhibitions on contemporary Taiwanese literature.

The buildings themselves are the main attraction for many visitors — well preserved Japanese colonial residential architecture is rare in city centres. Free entry, closed on Mondays.
