The largest fine arts museum in Taiwan and the country's flagship institution for modern and contemporary Taiwanese art. The permanent collection traces painting, sculpture, and calligraphy from the Japanese colonial period to the present, and the rotating special exhibitions regularly bring in international names. The building itself is set in a pleasant park in the Wuquan cultural district. Free admission. Closed on Mondays.
