National Archaeological Museum

The archaeological collection, near the Polytechnic University at the south end of the boulevard, covers the Illyrian, Greek, Roman, and Byzantine layers of Albanian prehistory and antiquity. Smaller and less polished than the National History Museum on Skanderbeg Square, but with the better material: the Apollonia and Butrint finds in particular.

An hour is enough. Useful before a trip to Apollonia, Durrës, or Butrint on the coast.
