The Hungarian Natural History Museum sits in the historic Ludovika Military Academy complex and gives Budapest a quieter, more scientific museum stop. The displays are strongest on minerals, geology and natural history, with enough variety to work for families as well as curious adults.
It is not as showy as Budapest's palace museums or grand baths, but it is useful if you want a break from imperial architecture and a closer look at the natural world of Hungary and the Carpathian Basin.
