Saint Anne Parish Church

Saint Anne Parish Church stands on the Buda side of the Danube, close to Batthyany Square. It is one of Víziváros's better Baroque landmarks, begun in 1740 by master builder Kristof Hamon and completed in 1761 by Mate Nopauer.

The church is worth a short stop if you are walking between the riverfront and Castle Hill. Its twin towers, curved facade, and richly modelled interior give this quieter part of Buda a strong eighteenth-century note.
