Saint Ladislaus Roman Catholic Church is the landmark church of Kőbánya, built in 1899 to designs by Ödön Lechner. Its tall bell tower, patterned roof, and Eclectic-Art Nouveau details make it one of the more distinctive churches outside Budapest's central tourist circuit.
The roof uses colourful Zsolnay ceramic tiles, a favourite material of Hungarian Secession architecture. It is worth a look if you are exploring eastern Budapest or have an interest in Lechner's work.
