Remnants of Contra-Aquincum

Contra-Aquincum was a Roman fort on the Pest side of the Danube, facing the larger town of Aquincum across the river. The surviving remains are modest, but they add a useful Roman layer to a central Budapest walk, especially for visitors already following the riverfront around Elisabeth Bridge.
