The Palace of Arts, usually known locally as Müpa, is one of Budapest's main modern cultural venues. The large riverside building brings together the Ludwig Museum, the Festival Theatre, and the Béla Bartók National Concert Hall.
Come for the exhibitions, the architecture, or a performance: the programme ranges from classical music and opera to jazz, world music, and children's events. It is especially useful in bad weather, when you want a substantial cultural stop away from the older sights of central Pest and Buda.
