Great Mikveh

The Great Mikveh is one of Kazimierz's quieter Jewish heritage sights, tucked beneath the building now known for Klezmer Hois. The ritual bath dates from the 16th century, though the building above it was rebuilt in the early 20th century.

The visit is short but atmospheric: about 40 steep steps take you down into the old bath chamber below street level. It works best as part of a walk linking Kazimierz's synagogues, museums, and courtyards.
