A museum devoted to the four decades of communist Poland, set in the planned workers' district of Nowa Huta. Its displays cover propaganda, the command economy, daily life under shortage, and the opposition movements that grew here. It anchors a tour of Nowa Huta's Socialist Realist architecture around Plac Centralny.

A story
The museum occupies the Swiatowid, Nowa Huta's grand 1950s cinema built to entertain the workers of the new steel town; the building itself, with its monumental Socialist Realist lines, is as much an exhibit as the propaganda posters and consumer relics it holds.
