Krakow-Płaszów Concentration Camp

Krakow-Płaszów was the Nazi concentration camp built on the edge of the city after the liquidation of the Krakow Ghetto. The former camp area is now mostly open grassland and low hills, with memorials marking a place where thousands of people were imprisoned and murdered.

It is a stark, quiet visit rather than a conventional museum. The site makes most sense after seeing the ghetto area in Podgórze or Schindler's Factory, which help explain how this landscape fits into Krakow's Holocaust history.
