Run by the Jagiellonian University's medical college, this museum on Florianska Street holds antique pharmacy fittings, ceramic and glass vessels, old laboratory equipment and a library of pharmacopoeias. The atmospheric room-by-room descent through a historic merchant's house is as much a draw as the exhibits.
Pharmacy Museum
Jagiellonian University museum on Floriańska Street tracing five centuries of Polish pharmacy
A story
Spread over several floors of a Gothic townhouse, the collection runs from a reconstructed Renaissance apothecary's shop to a cellar full of wine casks once used to age herbal tinctures, and an attic of drying herbs — one of the largest pharmacy museums in the world.
