Banjica Concentration Camp Museum

A Belgrade memorial museum in the former Banjica concentration camp, documenting Nazi occupation and local collaboration during World War II.

The Banjica Concentration Camp Museum is one of Belgrade's most serious World War II sites. The former camp held anti-fascists, Jews, Roma, Partisans, Chetniks, and other prisoners under Nazi occupation and local collaboration, and the museum preserves documents, photographs, and objects connected to that history.

It is not a polished tourist attraction, and that is partly why it matters. Visit with time to absorb the material, then connect it with Jajinci and the wider occupation history of Belgrade; the site gives a much darker counterpoint to the city's café-heavy central districts.
