Old Palace

Former royal residence in central Belgrade, now part of the city assembly complex.

Belgrade's Old Palace is one of the city's major civic landmarks, a former royal residence facing the broad central axis around Nikola Pasic Square. Its nineteenth-century architecture gives this part of Belgrade a formal, state-capital character.

Most travellers see the palace from outside while walking between Terazije, the National Assembly, and the central squares. It is worth pausing for the history: the building links royal Serbia, Yugoslav statehood, and present-day municipal government in one address.
